Middle Class Plan

Summary

Anna Throne-Holst is committed to supporting middle class taxpayers and families in Congress, just as she did on the local level.

  •  Cut taxes for middle-class families and pay for it by eliminating special-interest loopholes for the wealthy and large corporations.
  • Audit the budget to root out wasteful spending in Congress like she did in Southampton to earn a AAA tax saving bond rating.
  • Create partnerships between our universities and the private sector to build training and job programs.
  • Invest in infrastructure and mass transit to create high-paying jobs and help reduce commute times.
  • Make college affordable for all Americans by lowering interest rates, expanding tax credits, and making state and community colleges debt free.
  • Invest in affordable childcare programs so middleclass families can afford to raise a family while working or attending school here on Long Island.
  • Stop trade deals that send our jobs overseas and hurt our country’s economy.

Reducing Gun Violence

Summary

Anna Throne-Holst is committed to keeping our communities safe from the threat of gun violence. In Congress, she will support common-sense gun safety laws while ensuring the rights of law-abiding gun owners are not infringed upon.

Anna will fight to close the gun-show loophole and require background checks for those purchasing a gun. She is committed to doing real work to keep guns out of the hands of violent felons, domestic violence abusers, individuals suffering from mental illness and suspected terrorists. She is also committed to finally regulating the high-impact assault weapons that have too often been used to commit mass shootings across the United States.
